Kids are a constant source of energy, running and playing hard in spite of weather, circumstance, and temperature. In heat levels that would slow down most adults, children will happily gear up and play sports in the blazing sunlight. However, this boundless energy comes at a cost no child considers on their own. Playing, especially in the heat, can take up an impressive amount of water and it is all too easy for enthusiastic children to forget about staying hydrated to compensate for the amount of time they spend running around in the hot sunshine. This is especially true for children who play sports, dedicating hours of their afternoons and weekends to practicing and competing on open fields. One of the best things team parents can do together is to promote hydration during sporting gatherings and events.
How We Lose Water
The human body is made up of nearly 60% water and processes it in a lot of ways.

Though baseball season starts and ends in chilly weather, most games are played during scorching temperatures. That said, the intense heat of summer causes many players to drip with sweat—even if they are just standing in right field without any action. But isn't that what baseball is all about: the grit of playing under the brutal sun, sliding around and getting dirty, and battling through the elements to prove your team is the team to beat? Of course, it is! However, these conditions can lead to things like sunburn, dehydration, and symptoms of heat stress, such as muscle cramps, dizziness, and fatigue. Though the right SPF reduces the likelihood players walk off the field looking like lobsters and water prevents dehydration, what's the best way to keep their bodies cool? Sure, they can always put cold rags around their necks or even dump bottles of water on their faces. But c'mon, baseball is

Summer is the time for sports. Whether it's junior soccer for the kids, the company softball league dad decided to join this year, or peewee football for the little ones, everyone wants to get out and play a game or two once the temperature warms up. Even if you remember to stay hydrated and put on the proper amount of sunscreen, though, there is a risk that you won't be able to beat the heat after it reaches a certain temperature. However, if you're looking for a way to keep cool while still getting into the spirit of the season, then it might be time to think about setting up misting fans on your home field. If you're thinking of those fans you often see on restaurant patios that keep things cool for the outdoor patrons, those are exactly the same fans we're talking about. They can do a lot more than let you enjoy your sandwich in comfort when the temperature soars.

Fairs are the time for having fun and making memories that will stay with you for years to come. Whether it's singing along with the band playing the center stage on opening night, riding the rides, testing yourself with the games of skill and chance, or just eating delicious food that you know you'll regret tomorrow, there's something for everyone to enjoy at fairs. However, since they tend to happen during the summer months (to take advantage of warm weather and since kids are off of school), fairs also have to contend with dust, soaring temperatures, and a dozen other environmental issues. If you've been beaten by the heat before, here are three reasons you should consider having misting fans at your next fair.
Reason #1: They Keep Things Cool
A misting system uses a basic scientific principle called evaporation cooling in order to help fight soaring temperatures. -

When you think of big, colorful umbrellas and cabanas, hot days, cold drinks and the need to hide from the sun usually come to mind. But clubs and resorts in tropical climates are not the only beneficiaries of such shady amenities; ski resorts and other cold-weather locations will find just as much use for them. If your resort operates year-round, and your packing those patio umbrellas and cabanas away when ski season arrives, here's why it's time to rethink that idea:
Why sun protection matters in a cold climate
The sun's rays don't go away just because it's winter, with its overcast skies and shorter days. The sun's UV rays can penetrate cloud cover and contribute to skin cancer,

Though working outside has its perks—such as breathing fresh air, the enjoying nature, soaking in essential vitamin D, getting a tan, and staying in shape, all while making money—there's no denying that it has its downfalls; the biggest of which is severe heat stress. But most of these problems can be resolved using a misting fan at the job site. And that's why there's no need to sweat whether your crew may overheat during the hottest months of the year. Join us below as we explain five advantages of using misting fans for manual labor jobs this summer.
Staying Cool & Productive From landscaping, hardscaping, masonry and roofing to painting, carpentry, construction and paving, industrial high-pressure misting fans are perfect for any type of outdoor work. Because not only do they keep your workers cool, calm, and collected during a time of

When you're running a luxury hotel, every inch of your venue has been dedicated to guest comfort and relaxation, from the gourmet rooms service to the poolside dining. Your staff goes out of their way to fulfill every possible request and ensure each guest is having a wonderful time. While you may hand-mix drinks, bring up extra pillows, and considerately set thermostats, there is one thing that your expert hospitality staff cannot to: control the weather. As much as you would love to provide a balmy but comfortable 75 to 80 days, often during the summer months, the temperature gets much higher than that, driving your valued guests away from the outdoor amenities they'd otherwise love to enjoy. One of the biggest sacrifices made to the blazing summer sun in patio dining any other time of year.
Too Hot to Handle
The natural conflict, of course, is that summer is the most popular vacation -

Kids often beg their parents to go just for the opportunity to burn off their burgers, sodas, and chocolate shakes by running around, climbing through, and sliding down the features of your unique and colorful equipment. Able to get their food and settle in quickly, parents are also big fans of the fast food play-place as it gives them the opportunity to kick back with a book, music, or work on their mobile devices while their kids expend some energy. However, if your play-place is outdoors in a region that can really heat up, even a shady awning might not be enough to keepRead more »

Unfortunately, lawns don't stop growing just because it's too hot to go out there and mow them. From the public parks to your private lawn, the brave landscaping teams that work through the summer months have a tough job ahead of them: not getting heat stroke while pushing heavy lawn mowers up and down sun-drenched fields. There are, in fact, an unfortunately large number of heat related illnesses and landscapers are constantly at risk. The good news is that as technology marches forward, a solution for everything eventually appears, and misting tents are a great way to help protect sun-exposedRead more »
